Is my evacuation zone the same as my flood zone?

No. Evacuation zones are storm-surge emergency planning zones (A–E, who leaves when); FEMA flood zones are insurance and building-code designations (X, AE, VE…). They are drawn by different agencies from different models and frequently disagree for the same address.

What evacuation zone am I in?

Each county publishes its own lookup: Miami-Dade's Storm Surge Planning Zones, Broward's hurricane pages, and Palm Beach County's Know Your Zone. Zone A evacuates first; mobile homes evacuate under every order.

Evacuation zone by address — not the same as your flood zone

Two different maps get conflated every hurricane season. Your FEMA flood zone is an insurance and building-code designation about long-run flood probability. Your evacuation zone is an emergency-management designation about storm surge — whether you leave when an order comes. A property can be flood zone X and still be in evacuation zone A, and vice versa.

Evacuation zones are published by each county's emergency management department:

Miami-Dade: zones A through E — the county's Storm Surge Planning Zone lookup on miamidade.gov.
Broward: zones A through E, republished before each season on broward.org/hurricane.
Palm Beach: zones A through E via the county's Know Your Zone lookup on pbcgov.org.

Zone A evacuates first (surge from even a weak storm); E rarely. Mobile homes evacuate under every order regardless of zone.

What your flood zone tells you that your evacuation zone doesn't

The evacuation map answers "do I leave?" The flood map answers "what does this property cost to own?" — insurance requirements, premium levels, elevation rules when you build. If you are buying, the flood zone is the one that belongs in your offer math, and it is the one lenders check at closing.
